Hola! Ciao! Hallo! Bonjour! Hello!

With December swiftly approaching, I thought I would start a blog to document my wedding planning and share ideas, inspiration, and wisdom (I’m sure I’ll gain some…right?) with y’all. While I knew I wanted to start said blog, I wasn’t sure how to kick it off. After deliberating for a while, I realized I should probably write a post that will act as a foundation for the rest. So, I will use my first post to explain the purpose of this blog and the premise behind the title.  Without further ado…

My philosophy for life can be summed up by one word: Joy.

According to the Janie White guide to a full life, happiness can and should be found in every experience–whether as a result, in spite of, or because of the crazy things life throws at us. Sure, sometimes life can sock you in the eye, but joy found in spite of that is the most wonderful, empowering kind. Dandy, right? But, why share with you my life’s philosophy? What does this have to do with a wedding blog? This philosophy is the premise not only for my wedding day, but the entire planning process. With all of the beautiful wedding blogs/websites out there, it is so easy to get caught up in the flowers, hors d’oeurves, and fancy dresses, but the laughs, smiles, and joyful conversations are what makes this one of the pinnacles of a lifetime. Of course, I love flowers, and fancy dresses make me swoon, but keeping a sense of humor is what will make this process (and the big day) fun.

And so, I vow to you this will not be a blog about my bridezilla tactics, whining about my FMIL, or even how the florist messed up the flowers. This blog will ooze nothing but love, baby. C’mon, weddings are supposed to fun!

With all of that said, let’s start the show:

Here is the story of a small-town girl and the boy who makes her world glitter…
